The village of Tamarindo Uno is a two-hour drive from civilization, and is set amongst rolling hills and ranches. This village has no access to electricity or running water. On March 2022, we visited the school to donate school desks, blankets and clothing for the students and their families. Our volunteers were so touched by the simplicity of the village folk that they pledged to build two bathrooms and lay down flooring for the school.
March 2023: a visit to Tamarindo Uno surprised us with the sincerity and simplicity of the village people, when we saw that the funds given by the foundation for a school were used to build two additional rooms. The village consists of 43 children of whom 17 have to walk 1 km each way to school through cattle ranches. The families collectively decided to build a classroom and a toilet for the 17 children so they would spend more time learning than commuting.
